ASSRIP Could Help Big Brother

In the now daily war against common sense I have found myself quite bemused by todays coverage of the news...

...Apparently the daring attempted rescue of a Lance Corporal in Afghanistan by brave soldiers harnessed to the wings of an Apache helicopter comes second place to....Big Brother?

As the founder of ASSRIP (see previous intro) I just can't quite fathom how a bunch of air headed (and I use this term loosely) CELEBRITIES have generated such a media storm. Channel 4 are not surpisingly quite happy about it...as are the advertisers who fund commercials....I mean an extra one million viewers for that shambolic nonsense? Anyone would think the whole thing had been planned! (Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination but seriously, if I was an exec a Channel 4 I would have come up with something very similar).

It's just another nail in the coffin for common sense...in particular all the fuss and fury over the alleged mistreatment of one of the contestants....

Let's face facts here...girls bitch. That is what they do. Unfortunately they are bitching in front of a lot of people and yeah ok, they might be making one person feel bad...which is by no means acceptable but lets get real...she's a Bollywood star - are you telling me that she isn't hardened to the bitchy nature of people? Look at the industry she works in and ask yourself a question or two...or four...

1) Is it likely that in her profession she has encountered bitching and sniping on a very regular basis?
2) Is she going to have done her own fair share of it in her time?
3) Is she not on a very competitive TV show which is actually a game?
4) If you had extensive acting experience and wanted to win a game what would you do to make the public vote for you?

Answer those questions and then ask yourself one more...

Where the hell has it been decided that what is going on is racist?

I actually think from listening to the coverage that Jackson seeded that idea and it hadn't come out until he said it....then sit back potential members of ASSRIP because all the box people (see intro)will leap from them little compartments and boom...fireworks! More great news for Channel 4!

I can't stand racist abuse, or in fact any kind of abuse but living strictly by the rules of common sense I can see that it is NOT occurring in the Big Brother house...at least not from what I've seen. All I can see is a very pointless bit of television, coupled by the kind of lunatic over-reaction (fuelled by the press) which has sparked a major international incident.

A round of applause for the people who seperated society into all its little boxes...you've really outdone yourselves this time.

Back to the real world and the real people who we should be concentrating on...to the soldiers involved in the Afghanistan incident well done...you deserve to be rewarded in this life and the next for what you've done...

...not because of your colour, creed, religion of who you were fighting against...simply because what you did was damn brave and showed a greater respect for human life, friendship and the values of common sense than anything else I have heard in a long time. Don't let it boil down to "just doing a job"....

...in a world ruled by box people your actions make you kings amongst men...as for Big Brother and all those in the throws of over-reaction just get a grip on yourselves please...there are much more important things to do than waste your days grinding axes...try to live your lives and you'll feel much better for it.

ASSRIP's doors are always open....
